Once upon a time five of Texas' most extraordinary show caves teamed up to provide a statewide tourism experience to their audience. We partnered with the Caverns of Sonora, Natural Bridge Caverns, Cave Without a Name, Inner Space Cavern, and Longhorn Cavern State Park to create a cohesive campaign for their incentive-based program. Ultimately they'd need a logo, a travel poster, a 'passport', an informational website, and a tee-shirt. We proudly created all portions of the campaign, taking care to keep them cohesive.
The website created for the Texas Cave Trail features a bright color palette, subtle theme-centric textures and backgrounds, interactive features (print a passport, sliding buttons) and a wealth of information laid out in an intuitive manner. Like the project itself, the site is meant to be fun.
Launch WebsiteDesigned to mimic a badge, the logo for the Texas Cave trail echoes Texas both above and below ground. Final artwork includes a colorful 3D version complete with stiching details, a 2D multi-color version, a single color version, and a passport 'seal' to round out and coordinate application.
We let retro travel posters (WPA style National Park poster artwork, etc.) inspire the entire Texas Cave Trail project and nowhere is that reflected quite as much as the program poster. Poster designs were drafted in 16"x20", 11"x17" and 11"x14" sizes and feature 100% custom vector artwork.
View Poster View PosterThe Texas Cave Trail utilizes a passport system that keeps track of which of the five caves the particpant has visited. A rack card format was chosen for durability and portability and five separate covers were created, one for each of the stunning subterranean sites.
